Your Verus Vita – Embracing Gratitude & Celebrating Together!

Hello Reader,

Do you find yourself saying, “I can’t believe it’s already mid-November”? With the election thankfully behind us, the holiday season is now quickly approaching. This time of year can get busy, so it’s essential to keep yourself in mind as you navigate the days and weeks ahead. Self-care is a valuable way to stay grounded, and I’ve included an article on emotional regulation for leaders—and really for everyone—to help maintain balance.

November is also a month focused on gratitude, and I wholeheartedly agree with making space for this practice. Regularly reflecting on what you’re grateful for can increase happiness, reduce stress and anxiety, and even improve sleep. Below I've included three gratitude practices you might try throughout the holiday season, from quick and simple to more reflective.

Lastly, I’d love to invite you to celebrate with me! Verus Vita Advisory turned one last week, and we’re hosting a “Happy Birthday, Thank You Hour” tomorrow at 4:30 PM in Old Line Spirit's Tasting Room to mark the occasion. If you’re able to join us, please RSVP here to let us know. I look forward to seeing many of you there as we celebrate a year of growth, gratitude, and connection.

Be well,

--Krista

Three Gratitude Practices to Try This Season

QUICKEST

Gratitude Snapshot

Take a mental “snapshot” of one moment each day that brings you joy or peace. This could be as simple as a warm cup of coffee, a moment of quiet, or a meaningful interaction. Hold onto this image in your mind as a quick reminder of what you’re thankful for.

MODERATE

Three Good Things

At the end of each day, jot down three things that went well or for which you feel grateful and why. Reflecting on positive moments—even small ones—helps reinforce the habit of gratitude over time.

MOST TIME-CONSUMING

Gratitude Letter

Write a text or hand-written letter to someone who has positively impacted your life, whether it’s a family member, mentor, or friend. Express your appreciation and detail how they’ve influenced you. You can keep the letter private, or, if you’re comfortable, share it with them.
